What is the trait you most deplore in others?
Phoniness. Be yourself. Do you. I often don’t respect people who just feel like the sum of the parts of the people around them.

What is your greatest extravagance?
Accessories. Specifically hats and ties.

What is your motto?
Go big or go home.

Describe what you do
I’m lucky enough to have a career that allows me to be creative, say outlandish things and make things look pretty.

When I travel, I always…
Explore every inch. Taste every bite. Snap every picture.

What’s the title of the movie with you the main character?
Shut up and Dance.

The number one thing that will be obsolete in 10 years?
All manner of discs. CDs, DVDs, Blue Rays, Games. GONE. All gone.

Favorite thing about Philadelphia?
I love that Philly just does Philly. We know we aren’t NY and we don’t want to be. I feel like the City’s Philly-ness is beginning to be recognized as a good thing too.

Which way does your toilet paper hang on the wall – over or under?
OVER! Under is the wrong way.

Favorite movie quote?
“I know you asshole!” Royal Tenenbaum to Eli Cash in The Royal Tenenbaums

Where was your last vacation?
Last vacation was my honeymoon with my wife Hilary. We went to Paris and then Santorini. It was magical.

Nicole McGann: Strategist, Pit Bull, and Lover of Lemons. Right?

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Laying on a blanket in the middle of my backyard with my husband, on a not-too-hot summer day, with our kids running around us giggling.

What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
Perfectionism. Sometimes it works to my benefit, but often it just gets in the way of my own happiness.

What do you consider the most overrated virtue?
Diligence*.
*See answer to question #2

Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
I end too many sentences with, “Right?” I didn’t realize it until my 4-year-old started saying it too.

Describe what you do
I help brands connect with women in meaningful and wonderful ways.

What is your most marked characteristic?
Tenacity. I never settle. If I don’t like the answer, I keep going until I do. A teacher of mine once told me I was a Pit Bull, I took it as a compliment.

What is your motto?
If it doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t.

When I travel, I always…
get sick. It’s usually my own fault – why would anyone eat a roast beef sandwich (with mayonnaise) on a 12-person flight out of Mozambique?

When life gives me lemons…
I say, “Thanks, I needed those.”

What do you most value in your friends?
Acceptance. If you can’t say or do just about anything in front of a friend, without judgment, they’re not a real friend. Right?

Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
Good grief. Jeez. Make it better.

When and where were you happiest?
I was happiest in creative writing classes in college. For the first time in my life, I felt like I fit in.

Which talent would you most like to have?
Musical talent would be nice. I love watching people play musical instruments.

What is your greatest regret?
I wish I could take back at least half the times I was snarky and superficial because I thought it was funny or cool. I now see it’s braver to be honest and genuine even though it means being exposed to ridicule.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
My kids smile a lot and are nice to people. I hope I had something to do with that.

What is the strangest thing in your refrigerator?
A human head. (Oh, don’t worry! I’m not crazy or dangerous. I’m just holding it for a friend.)

Which way does your toilet paper hang on the wall — over or under?
I have it on good authority that “over” is how the Pope, the Queen of England and the Dalai Lama prefer it. My bottom has bowed to this prestigious peer pressure.

Most embarrassing moment?
In my 20s I lived in NYC. On a sunny summer day I was walking north on Fifth Avenue when I spotted Bo Derek heading my way. (If you’re under 40, check IMDB.) She was beautiful. And glowing. Like movie lights were illuminating her. My jaw went slack. As she passed, my head swiveled to follow. She was smiling, surely humored at the effect she was having on this goofy, gangly kid. BAM. I walked right into a little old lady and knocked her down. She wasn’t irate, but she wasn’t happy, either. I pulled her up off the sidewalk, apologizing profusely. She gave me a stern look and then craned her neck down the block. She probably saw the whole, sad chain of events. She just shook her head and waved me off.
